I had booked a intermediate car in Enterprise. The website shows it can accommodate 5 people. When I went there, I got a Hyundai velostar. It is a 3 door vehicle that accommodates only 4 people at the maximum. I do not know why is it classified as intermediate when it is a compact car.

It looks like there are some good rating here but I was not as lucky. I needed to rent a car last week. I was giving a weekly price that covers a period of 7 days rental. I knew I really don’t need 7 days so I asked the lady who served me how much I would be charged if I return the car earlier. She told me I would be charged based on the day I drive. As I anticipated, I returned the car on day 5. This time, a gentleman served me and he charged me for the whole 7 days rental plus 7 day tax despite I repeatedly told him I only rented for 5 days and told him what the lady told me. He still charged a full 7 days on me but give me a 5 day tax as an “appreciation”. He printed me a completely un-readable receipt because the printer didn’t have enough toner. I asked for an email receipt. The gentleman did something on his computer and then told me he just sent me an email. I waited for a few minutes and kept checking my email on my cell phone. I didn’t see it. I asked him if he had my email address in his computer. He told he didn’t have it in the system. How he could send me an email without knowing my email address is beyond my imagination. Anyway, he asked me to write down my email address on a post-it. I did. I waited for a few more minutes and asked if he had re-sent the email. He told he could not sent it. Only the manager could do it. The manager was quite busy on the phone in another room. I was waited a few more minutes and then the gentleman told me I could just leave. He would ask the manager to email me later. So I left. Finally, I spent a good 30 min checkout time, got charged for 7 days price for 5 day rental, received a un-readable receipt, and never got that god damn email.

Friendly, fast, service from well-trained, knowledgeable staff (most seem to be Rutgers students or grads). Clean, new cars. Pickup and drop off service is indispensable! Easy to refill the gas tank with three gas stations just spitting distance away.

The New Brunswick, NJ shop cars are dirty and smell like ashtrays. I was picked up over an hour late and the staff seemed to think this was an acceptable level of service. There was only two cars available so I had no other choice to take one. I drove it to another Enterprise in Princeton and swapped for a decent vehicle.
